Who We Are
Daren Kullman is the owner of The Kullman Group, which specializes in organizational culture, leadership, and improving team dynamics. Daren is retired from a 22-year career with law enforcement. A highly decorated leader, he was recognized by the National Association of Police Officers as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation for his heroics. Daren has written policy, instructed, and evaluated at state and regional levels. Daren was often called on as the liaison to outside agencies, including the local EMS provider and 911 Center. He has had many assignments throughout his career, including evidence collection and preservation, emergency services unit, special weapons and tactics, and community policing. He has been a part of evaluating leaders by writing exams and interviewing candidates for promotion in both law enforcement and as a private consultant. He evaluated future leaders for Schreyer Honors College at Penn State.
Prior to serving as a Police Sergeant, Daren was forerunner in the EMS field. Daren was a trusted resource in program development, working as a flight medic, clinical instructor for Paramedics, and a classroom instructor.
Community service has always been an integral part of his dedication to servant leadership – he served as a member of the Board of Directors for a prominent therapeutic equestrian facility, coached his daughter’s sports teams, and helped with multiple community projects. He attended a highly selective yearlong program, Leadership Greater Syracuse, designed to inspire a diverse group of leaders from varying fields to make a difference in their community.
Daren believes that leadership is integral to success, and credits Scouting for piquing his appreciation of the study of leadership. He attained Eagle Scout and served in many leadership and mentoring roles. Daren was recognized for his servant leadership by Scouting’s Honor Society and the Order of the Arrow when he became a Vigil member. He continues serving as an adult leader in Scouting, both as a troop leader in his son’s unit, and Assistant District Commissioner.
Daren holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from SUNY Cortland and a Master’s Degree in the Psychology of Leadership from Pennsylvania State University. Daren is certified in DiSC as well as the Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team.
In his free time, Daren enjoys time with his wife, three children, and grandchild. He also spends time in his woodshop and maintaining his hobby farm.
